Mizuki Inoue is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The UFC strawweight recently underwent knee surgery.
Inoue took to Instagram to update fans on the situation:
Inoue is coming off a decision loss to Amanda Lemos at UFC Vegas 7. She is currently 1-1 in UFC fights and her record stands at 14-6 overall.
The 26 year old stated that she had surgery on October 26th to repair the anterior cruciate ligament. She had injured her knee during training the previous month.
Before signing with the UFC she had held the Deep-Jewels 115lbs title and challenged for the Invicta FC strawweight title. Her brother, Naoki Inoue, has also fought for the UFC and is currently on the Rizin roster.
Inoue signed for the promotion as a late replacement last year. She came in at short notice and beat Yanan Wu by split decision at UFC Shenzhen, fighting at flyweight.
Inoue saw several fights fall through due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But she returned in August, dropping down to strawweight for the decision loss to Lemos.
