I had an injury my left knee on September 24. Then I couldn’t walk after the training. So I consulted my manager and decided to have surgery. I had a surgery on my left knee October 16th. The contents are repair anterior cruciate ligament of knee with assistance of an endoscope and two other places. I think it will take about a year to return to the fight. I will definitely get stronger and come back, so please wait for me. I’m always thankful for my all coaches, my teammates, my manager, my friends, my family and fans. #surgery #10.16.2020 #comeback #strongwomen #after #1year #ufc

Inoue is coming off a decision loss to Amanda Lemos at UFC Vegas 7. She is currently 1-1 in UFC fights and her record stands at 14-6 overall.

The 26 year old stated that she had surgery on October 26th to repair the anterior cruciate ligament. She had injured her knee during training the previous month.

Before signing with the UFC she had held the Deep-Jewels 115lbs title and challenged for the Invicta FC strawweight title. Her brother, Naoki Inoue, has also fought for the UFC and is currently on the Rizin roster.

Inoue signed for the promotion as a late replacement last year. She came in at short notice and beat Yanan Wu by split decision at UFC Shenzhen, fighting at flyweight.

Inoue saw several fights fall through due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But she returned in August, dropping down to strawweight for the decision loss to Lemos.
