It’s MMA vs Muay Thai! Demetrious Johnson is going to take on Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed rules bout at ONE: ‘X’ on December 5th.
Rodtang has won ten fights out of ten for ONE Championship and is the reigning flyweight Muay Thai champion. Johnson has won three out of four and won the flyweight tournament in MMA.
There will be four rounds in total. The first round will be Muay Thai, the second round will be MMA, the third round will be Muay Thai and the fourth round will be MMA although no-one is expecting this to go the distance.
The card will also feature two title fights. Bibiano Fernandes (24-4) is going to take on John Lineker (34-9) in an all Brazilian bantamweight title bout. Meanwhile Thanh Le (12-2) takes on Garry Tonon (6-0) with the former making the first defence of his featherweight crown.
ONE: ‘Champion vs Champion’ was the promotions inaugural event. It took place on September 3rd, 2011 and this event is set to commemorate the historic tenth anniversary.
ONE Championship is clearly pulling out all the stops for this event which will take place on a Sunday and doesn’t currently have a confirmed location.
