Nick Diaz might not have won a fight since 2011 but he clearly isn’t doing too badly. It was revealed this week that the UFC veteran is starring in a Jean Claude Van Damme movie.
He might have been eclipsed by his younger brother Nate Diaz who is one of the most eligible free agents in the sport and has been linked with both ONE Championship and Rizin. But the 39 year old still has plenty on his plate and has been acting alongside one of the most recognizable action movie stars on the planet.
Diaz is set to appear in the latest Jean-Claude Van Damme movie entitled ‘Darkness of Man.’ IMDB has the lowdown on the movie which has already finished filming,
Russell Hatch (played by Jean-Claude Van Damme), an Interpol operative who takes on the role of father figure to Jayden, the son of an informant killed in a routine raid gone wrong. Years later, Hatch finds himself protecting Jayden and his grandfather from a group of merciless gangs in an all-out turf war, stopping at nothing to protect Jayden and fight anyone getting in his way.

Very quiet
Diaz has kept his new career very quiet. But Matt Staudt, who is in the movie industry and trains with the Diaz brothers, broke the news on Instagram writing that,
The movie I was in LA for the last month wrapped yesterday. Get ready for a new, gritty and dark crime story set in LA starring JCVD and features Nick Diaz who killed it.
Diaz is not a complete stranger to acting having appeared in a cameo roll as himself in an episode of Ballers alongside Steve Guttenberg. According to Staudt the 39 year old had a lot more to do in his latest project,
Nick also has a badass fight scene in the film. hen it got to rehearsing the fight he took over and of course had better ideas than the film’s stunt coordinator which is what ended up being filmed and looked awesome.

Sought after
Nate Diaz is currently one of the most sought after free agents in the sport with the UFC reportedly hoping to match him with Conor McGregor and a PFL offer to fight Jake Paul on the table. He turned his career around completely by beating Tony Ferguson in his final fight before entering free agency.
Both Rizin and ONE Championship have made it clear they are interested in acquiring his services, although it is not clear in what capacity. Nick Diaz hasn’t fought since 2021 although he might take inspiration from the way his younger brother has bounced back from a long losing streak.
But even if he decides to never step foot inside the octagon again the 39 year old will not be short of offers. He looks set for a lucrative career in the movie industry.
