Nieky Holzken has told a local newspaper in Holland he will be back in action on November 20th. The Dutch kickboxing veteran is set to face Elliot Compton at ONE: ‘Next Generation’ in Singapore.

A report in Eindhovens Dagblad carries quotes from Holzken. The 36 year old also reveals that he has put pen to paper on a contract extension with ONE Championship.

The fight with Compton had originally been booked for February according to the newspaper which quoted Holzken as saying,

“For a long time I had no goal at all, it was just training, training and training again. I’m glad I now have something to look forward to.”

The newspaper also revealed that the former Glory welterweight champion had signed a two year contract extension with ONE Championship. Holzken’s original deal expired this year but he has committed to six more fights.

The Dutchman has faced reigning ONE lightweight kickboxing champion Regian Eersel twice in 2019 and lost both fights. But Holzken told the newspaper he still has his sights firmly set on a trilogy title match with the champion,

“Of course, I remain the challenger. If I win a few more games, it seems to me that I can fight for that title again. That’s what I’m fighting for, it’s all about getting that belt to Helmond.”
