ONE Championship has started handing out $50,000 USD performance bonuses according to SCMP. The policy has been in place since last month but had not previously been publicized.
At least one $50,000 USD bonus will be handed out every single show and up to five fighters could take home the cash if the bouts are particularly impressive. The first two people on the roster to benefit from these scheme were Timofey Nastyukhin and Saygid Arslanaliev.
The two lightweights put on a war for the ages at ONE: ‘Winter Warriors’ last month. It was a bloody war in which Nastyuhkin would ultimately prevail, finishing Arslanaliev early in the third round.
Both men were rewarded with $50,000 USD after the event which took place on December 3rd. With 48 fighters in action between now and the end of the month there should be plenty of competition for the next bonuses.
ONE: ‘Heavy Hitters’ is set for Friday and will be headlined by a strawweight title bout between Xiong Jing Nan and Ayaka Miura. Two weeks later ONE: ‘Only the Brave’ has an interim heavyweight title fight between Anatoly Malykhin and Kirill Grishenko for a main event.
