ONE: ‘X’ has been postponed until 2022. The event was supposed to commemorate the promotion’s tenth anniversary but due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in Singapore it cannot go ahead this year.
Chatri Sityodtong broke the news on Facebook just now:
ONE: ‘X’ was scheduled to be headlined by a mixed rules bout between Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who is also recovering from Covid-19. A featherweight title fight between newly crowned champion Thanh Le and challenger Garry Tonon was also booked for December 5th.
Singapore has seen a recent surge in Covid-19 cases with 3,277 infections reported yesterday. The US responded by raising the country’s travel alert to the highest risk level.
The good news is that the rest of the ONE Championship calendar remains intact. But it doesn’t look like the promotion will get to celebrate its tenth anniversary this year.
