A new documentary is dropping in which Reinier de Ridder discusses his first win over Aung La Nsang. The Dutch fighter scored a first round submission victory at ONE: ‘Inside the Matrix’ to claim the middleweight title.

La Nsang came into the fight as a favourite and landed an uppercut in the opening exchanges. He then taunted de Ridder in a moment which the Dutchman recalls during the documentary:

We are only shown a few seconds of the documentary in the Instagram video. But La Nsang holds up one finger after landing his first shot and it clearly enraged de Ridder.

He recalls the moment,

“I think I have the option to take him down but I don’t. I get hit with an uppercut. He sticks his finger up and goes ‘one’ and I go fuck this guy I’ going to destroy him right now.”

Presumably de Ridder is talking about his internal dialogue as he doesn’t seem to be saying anything out loud during the fight. But La Nsang can clearly be seen holding up a finger, it could signify he has landed one punch or stuffed one takedown.

It was La Nsang’s best moment of the fight. Within 20 seconds de Ridder would have completed his second takedown and secured the position from which he would lock in the submission.

Next up for de Ridder is a fight with Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE: ‘Full Circle’. The Russian would be well advised not to try taunting the champion if he lands a punch, it will only make him angry!
