Ryuichiro Sumimura faces Yuta Watanabe in a welterweight title fight that will headline Deep 94. The event is set for the Korakuen Hall on March 1st.

Sumimura (14-8) has won his last seven fights for Deep and is the reigning 170lbs champion. However the 33 year old has suffered recent losses at Rizin 12 and Bellator Japan.

Watanabe (22-9-4) is riding a three fight winning streak and coming off a decision win over Yoichiro Sato at Deep 90. These two fighters first met in 2016 with the champion winning by rear naked choke.

The card also features a bantamweight fight between Yuki Motoya (23-8) and Takafumi Otsuka (27-16-1). Between them the pair have fought over 50 times for Deep.

However they are currently on very different career trajectories. Motoya was submitted by Patrick Mix at Rizin 20 last month while Otsuka beat Yuki Takano at Deep 93 two weeks earlier.
