Earlier this week it was announced that Satoshi Ishii had signed with KSW and the Japanese heavyweight won’t have to wait too long for his first fight. He has been booked to face Fernando Rodrigues Jr. in Lodz on March 23rd.
Rodrigues Jr. (12-4) is the former KSW heavyweight champion while Ishii (19-8-1) is a former Olympic gold medalist who holds the Serbian Battle Championship heavyweight title and successfully defended that belt last weekend.
Ishii also has a title fight booked for March 10th. He will fight at Heat 44 against Cally Gibrainn de Oliveira who is the promotion’s reigning heavyweight champion.
It is rare for a heavyweight to book so many fights in such a short space of time. He came through SBC 44 unscathed and will need to do the same thing in Nagoya next month if he wants to be able to fight on March 23rd.
The KSW 47 card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between current champion Phil De Fries (16-6) and Tomasz Narkun (16-2) who holds the promotion’s light heavyweight strap.
