After a busy 2019 Satoshi Ishii has a quick turnaround booked in the new year. The Japanese heavyweight is set to put his heavyweight title on the line against Cleber Souza at Heat 46 on January 19th.
Ishii (22-10-1) has already fought six times this year and is set to take on Jake Heun at Rizin 20 on December 31st. He’s coming off back to back decision losses with PFL and will be defending the belt he won at Heat 44 for the first time.
Souza (19-9) will be making his promotional debut. This will be the Brazilian’s second trip to Asia in recent years, in 2018 he lost to Bae Myung Ho at AFC 6.
The card also features a kickboxing legend. K-1 veteran Jerome LeBanner (3-3-1) will be looking for his first MMA win since 2006 when he takes on Korean journeyman Chang Hee Kim (1-5).
In lightweight action Won Sik Park (14-8-1) has been matched with Shigeaki Kusayanagi (10-9-6). Meanwhile Peter Aerts faces Jairo Kusunoki in a super heavyweight kickboxing bout.
