Seven fights confirmed for Pancrase 316 on July 5th
Pancrase 316 is set for Shinkiba Studio Coast on July 5th. The promotion has announced the first seven fights for this card, with several bouts from the two cancelled shows getting rescheduled.
In the featherweight division Issei Tamura (13-10) has been matched with Shinmare Komori (9-3). Both men had originally been booked to fight at the cancelled Pancrase 313 event, albeit not against each other.
Another fight moved from Pancrase 313 pits Jun Doi (17-8-1) against Sho Sekihara (3-0) in the bantamweight division. This bout pits youth against experience with the younger man facing the biggest test of his burgeoning career.
In the flyweight division multiple time boxing world title challenger Emiko Raika (8-5-1) faces former Strikeforce, Deep Jewels and Pancrase title challenger Takayo Hashi (16-8-1). That bout had originally been scheduled for the cancelled Pancrase 314 event.
Another rearranged Pancrase 314 flyweight fight sees Kohei Sugiyama (9-4) goes up against Naoki Arikawa (5-1-1). The latter will be going in search of his fourth straight win for the promotion while the former is coming off back to back decision victories.
Yusuke Kasuya (10-6-2) faces Hiroto Uesako (16-9) in another fight moved from Pancrase 314. Both lightweights will be looking to rebound from recent losses.
In the bantamweight division Masahide Hiraoka (6-4) faces Shinsuke Kosaka (14-7-2). The latter won three fights out of three for Pancrase in 2019 but goes up against an experienced who made his pro debut back in 2007.
Kazuki Kasai (3-1) will be moving up to lightweight to take on veteran Shinichi Taira (17-10-9). The 35 year old is coming off back to back wins while his opponent suffered a split decision defeat in the final of the featherweight Neo Blood Tournament at Pancrase 308.
Last month it was announced that both Pancrase 313 and 314 had been cancelled due to the coronavirus, or Covid-19. Pancrase 315 is set for Shinkiba Studio Coast on May 31st and will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Genpei Hayashi and Tatsuya Saika.
