Deep 90 will be headlined by a flyweight title fight. Yuya Shibata and Makoto Takahashi will go head to head at the Korakuen Hall on June 29th with the vacant 125lbs title on the line.
Shibata (16-6) challenged unsuccessfully for the Deep 115lbs title this year. He is coming off back to back wins as a flyweight and will be looking to claim one of the promotion’s belts at the second time of asking.
Takahashi (8-1-1) challenged for the Deep flyweight title last year but dropped a decision to Tatsumitsu Wada. It was the first and only loss of the teenager’s career and he will be looking to become the youngest champion in the promotion’s history on June 29th.
Wada vacated the title last year in order to sign with ONE Championship. He is set to face Demetrious Johnson in the semi final of the flyweight Grand Prix although the date and venue for this matchup has not yet been announced.
The show also features UFC veteran Michihiro Omigawa (17-14-1) who faces Yuki Ohara (9-7) in a featherweight fight. Meanwhile reigning Deep middleweight champion Tatsuya Mizuno (20-12-1) faces Mitsuyoshi Nakai (1-3) in a non title bout.
