Road to ONE 7 is set for Tokyo on February 22nd. There has been a change to the fight card with Shohei Nose replacing the injured Tomohiro Hagino, he faces Hikaru Yoshino in a featherweight fight.
Hagino suffered a rib injury according to MMA Planet. He is replaced by a fighter who is coming off the first loss of his career at Shooto 0919.
Nose (4-1-2) saw his four fight winning streak unceremoniously snapped by Ryoji Kudo last September. He competed at Road to ONE 1, beating Mitsuhiro Taki by split decision.
Yoshino (8-2) is coming off a split decision loss to Ali Motamed at OWS 9. That defeat snapped a seven fight winning streak for the featherweight who has a background in judo.
As previously announced the event will be headlined by a strawweight fight between Itsuki Hirata and Miku Nakamura and will showcase some up and coming Japanese fighters. In the co-main event undefeated teenager Miyuki Furusawa faces the experienced Takafumi Ato in a strawweight bout.
Another undefeated strawweight prospect on the card is Keito Yamakita. The 24 year old has won three out of three for Pancrase and has been matched with Shooto fighter Shuto Aki here.
This is the seventh installment in the series, Road to ONE 6 was set for Bangkok last December but was cancelled due to Covid-19. The event will be shown live in Japan by Abema TV.
