Road FC 57 is set for Seoul on December 14th and the card will be an eclectic mix of MMA, kickboxing and grappling bouts in a radical departure from the promotion’s usual format.
Up until this point Road FC has been an MMA promotion. But this card will see two former champions returning to compete in grappling bouts as Soo Chul-Kim and Lee Yun-Jun return after several years away from active competition.
Both the former champions are competing in lightweight grappling bouts. Kim, who held the 135lbs belt, is facing Takumi Nakayama while Jun, who held the 145lbs strap, takes on Shunichi Shimizu.
In MMA action Emi Tomimatsu (15-15) returns to Road FC for a 49kgs catchweight contest. The Japanese veteran has been matched with Hong Yun-Ha (3-5).
As previously announced former lightweight champion Yui Chul Nam will make his comeback at Road FC 57. The UFC veteran faces Shin Dong Guk in a welterweight fight.
Meanwhile two of the promotion’s top lightweights will face off when Yun Jae Jung takes on Nandin-Erdene. The card will also feature a kickboxing bout for the first time in Road FC history with Park Ha-Jeon taking on Oh Hyon-Ju in the flyweight division.
