Stamp Fairtex is headlining ONE Fight Night 14 later this month. The interim atomweight title is on the line and the Thai knows exactly what she wants to achieve.

Stamp wants to knock Seo Hee Ham out and she hopes to pick up a $50,000 USD cheque in the process,

“I want to win by KO because I hope to win a bonus too and I want everyone to see me as the one who can knock Ham out.”

Ham’s last four fights have all been the distance. Stamp sees this as a weakness and doesn’t think the Korean will be able to put her away,

“Ham’s strength is her precision left hand. She always follows her punches with a takedown or body lock. Her weakness? I think she still hesitates to finish her opponent. She’s not decisive enough.”

Close combat

Stamp knows that Ham is nothing if not durable and while she dreams of finishing the Korean the 25 year old is ready to fight for the full 25 minutes if necessary,

“In reality, Ham is very tough. I think I may win by decision.”

While Ham is known for her boxing ability Stamp uses all eight limbs to devastating effect. It sounds like the Thai fighter is confident she will be able to dominate in the clinch and possibly even finish the fight,

“I think I’m probably better than her with close combat weapons. If she leaves an opening, I can finish her off with an elbow.”

History maker

Stamp came up short last time she fought for the belt. That Thai was submitted in the second round by Angela Lee, who still holds the title but looks very unlikely to fight in 2023.

The interim belt will be on the line in Singapore and Stamp is determined to win an MMA title for the first time in her career,

“This fight means a lot to me. If I win, I’ll be the first three-sport ONE champion, which no one has ever accomplished before. I’m determined to make history.”

She has previously held the ONE Championship atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai titles. Winning a belt in a third sport is something no-one on the roster has ever even attempted before.

Punches and takedowns

Fabricio Andrade will have the opportunity to win a title in a second sport at ONE Fight Night 16. He currently holds the MMA title and is fighting for the vacant kickboxing belt.

Stamp is one step ahead of the Brazilian having already claimed two belts but knows she will have her work cut out trying to win a third at the expense of Seo Hee Ham,

“Ham Seo Hee is really strong fighter. She came from kickboxing, and I’m from Muay Thai, which means her footwork may be better than mine but I have far more weapons to pick than her. I have punches, kicks, knees, and elbows.”

Stamp thinks that the Korean will use punches to set up her takedowns. It sounds like she has prepared for exactly this scenario and believes keeping the fight on the feet will be crucial,

“I think her game plan is to come to punch me and then take me down to the ground. I’ll focus on my striking and try my best to stay on my feet and avoid her takedowns.”
