Takeru uploaded a new video to his YouTube channel yesterday and it has caused quite a stir. The K-1 star was asked about potential opponents and Rodtang’s Jitmuangnon‘s name came up.
He sounded enthusiastic about the prospect of fighting Rodtang,
“I want to fight him. Please K-1 call Rodtang,” he joked.
These comments did not sound entirely serious and Takeru would be well aware that Rodtang has an exclusive contract with ONE Championship. But the Thai did give his compatriot Tenshin Nasukawa a very tough time, he was saved by some generous Japanese judging.
The dream fight for kickboxing fans would be a match between Tenshin and Takeru but there doesn’t seem to be much progress made there despite both fighters calling for the contest to be made. The former is set to transition to boxing while the latter is recovering from injury.
A fight between either of the Japanese stars and Rodtang would also be a big draw. But the chances of it actually happening are decidedly slim.
