Thomas Narmo will be back in the ONE Championship cage later this month and the Norwegian giant takes his Viking heritage seriously. The  6’7″ fighter looks like he would be at home pillaging an Anglo Saxon village from his long boat.

He was born about 2000 years too late for that so Narmo has had to settle for travelling all over the world by plane  to compete as a mixed martial artist. However he is very much in touch with his ‘inner Viking’ as this Instagram post proves:

Narmo made his ONE Championship debut earlier this month. It didn’t go according to plan for the 27 year old as the bout with Alain Ngalani was ruled a ‘no contest’ after both men traded low blows.

We wouldn’t want to be hit below the belt by either one of these heavyweights. But the good news for the Norwegian is that he won’t have to wait too long to make his sophomore ONE Championship appearance.

Narmo is booked to face Marcus Almeida at ONE: ‘Revolution’ on September 24th. The Brazilian is a decorated BJJ champion so represents a very different test from Ngalani, a stand up specialist.

But Vikings are always ready to do battle and Narmo is no exception. The Norwegian will be hoping his next raiding party is more successful than the last.
