Two events in Asia have been added to the UFC’s 2019 schedule. There will be an event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 26th and a show in Busan on December 21st.
The former will be the second of three events in a multi-year partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Sports Hub. UFC Fight Night 162 will be the fourth event the promotion has held in ‘The Lion City’.
“Singapore is an important market for UFC as we look to strengthen our business internationally and continue to grow the sport of MMA in Asia,” said Kevin Chang, UFC Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific.
In 2017 UFC Fight Night 111 took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with Holly Holm facing Beth Correia in the main event event. Last year UFC Fight Night 132 was held in the same venue and was headlined by a bout between Leon Edwards and Donald Cerrone.
At present there is no additional information available about the event in Busan. This will be the promotion’s second card in South Korea. The first was UFC Fight Night 79 in 2015 which was headlined by Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal.
Also on the 2019 schedule are UFC on ESPN+ 15 in Shenzhen and UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.
