Victoria Lee has graduated from high school. The 18 year old has already put together a 3-0 record in MMA but hasn’t fought since September.

She got three ONE Championship bouts in last year but has had to put her MMA career on the backburner for a bit in order to focus on her studies,

“When I was fighting throughout the school year, it was definitely pretty difficult to juggle, like the timing of school and training, as well as the homework,” she said.

Family affair

Lee’s older brother and sister are both ONE Championship stars. They are full time mixed martial artists and the teenager is excited to be able to focus exclusively on her fighting career,

“So now, it’s nice to have all that time in the day just to train. Now I get to focus on just training and it’s just a way more enjoyable experience.”

While the Lees are legendary for their fighting exploits she says her family takes education pretty seriously too,

“It was so nice to see my whole family in the crowd as I was walking up to get my diploma. And then afterward, we went to dinner, and we celebrated. It was just so nice to have the whole family there.”

Big step

ONE 161 is set for August 27th (local time) and will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime in North America. Lee says she is not quite ready to return to the cage just yet but is hoping to be on one of these cards,

“I think that’s a really big step for ONE. It’s going to allow so many more people to have access to watch the fights and make it more accessible. Amazon Prime is so mainstream here, and I just think that’s awesome. If there’s an opportunity that would definitely be the choice because that would just be awesome.”

An atomweight Grand Prix has been completed since Lee’s last fight. Contenders have risen and fallen with the teenager paying close attention and she feels ready to face a ranked opponent,

“I have been watching some of the fights in my division. But I never want to choose a fight. Whoever’s ready and whoever’s next line, I’ll just be ready to fight. There’s no specific person that I want to choose. I do feel that my skills have prepared me and my training enough to face someone in the top five and be able to come out with a victory against them.”
