Liam Harrison has landed in Thailand ahead of his ONE on Prime Video 1 fight with Nong-O Gaiyanghadao. The Englishman is set to challenge for the bantamweight Muay Thai title on August 28th.

Harrison is training at the Yokkao Gym in Bangkok and shared a video of himself sparring with ONE Championship flyweight Superlek Kiatmoo9:

Sparring partner

Superlek won Lumpinee titles in two divisions and Thailand titles in three divisions. He challenged for the ONE Championship flyweight kickboxing title last year and was unfortunate to drop a decision to Ilias Ennahachi.

It was only Superlek’s second kickboxing fight but he is vastly experienced in Muay Thai. The 26 year old has had over 150 fights and is from a fighting family, his two cousins and uncle are also famous fighters in Thailand.

Superlek might be too small to have ever faced Nong-O but his uncle, Singdam Kiatmoo9, has beaten him four times! His cousin, Panomrunglek Kiatmoo9 has also fought him once and lost.

Experienced coach

Harrison has been working with Petchmankong Gaiyanghadao. He fought out of the Petchyindee camp where he would have spent thousands of hours training alongside Nong-O.

Petchmankong was also a successful fighter in his own right, winning two Toyota Marathons and Thailand titles in two divisions. Harrison describes him as his ‘favourite trainer in Thailand’.

Harrison usually uses the Jitti Gym as his base in Bangkok. But no-one there knows Nong-O quite as well as Petchmankong and Superlek and it seems he has brought in an experienced team to help him prepare for the biggest fight of his life.

Harrison earned the shot by stopping Muangthai PKSaenchaigym in one of the greatest rounds in Muay Thai history. He was knocked down twice in the opening round but came back to score three knockdowns of his own and finish the fight.

Just participating in a fight like that is enough to earn Harrison a place in Muay Thai history. But he wants a title to show for his accomplishments in the ONE Championship cage and will be looking to win one on August 28th.
