Xiong Jing Nan has joined Evolve MMA. The reigning ONE Championship strawweight queen will be moving to Singapore to train at the world renowned fight camp.

Xiong has previously prepared for her fights at Bali MMA. In 2019 she fought Angela Lee twice, winning by TKO in a strawweight title match but getting submitted in the second fight which had the Hawaiian’s atomweight title in the line.

Lee and Xiong now look set to potentially train together at Evolve MMA. Strawweight Maira Mazar, who fights at ONE: ‘A New Tomorrow’ on Friday is also at the camp meaning that there is set to be a strong contingent of female fighters on the team.

The 31 year old, who holds a 14-2 professional record, says she plans to relocate permanently to Singapore,

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to move to Singapore to train alongside all the world champions here at Evolve MMA. We all share the same dream and work relentlessly to achieve our goals.”

In 2019 Xiong featured on two of the biggest cards in Asia. At ONE: ‘A New Era’ she stopped Lee in the last round to defend her strawweight title in one of the best bouts seen in Asian MMA last year.

The rematch at ONE: ‘Century’ was just as dramatic but this time the outcome was not in the Chinese fighter’s favour. She was suplexed and submitted by Lee in the final round of an atomweight title fight that will also go down as a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender.

Other potential candidates for a strawweight title shot include Michelle Nicolini. The Brazilian scored a decision win over Lee at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’ last year.
