Alyse Anderson is taking on Stamp Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 10. She is going up against the atomweight Grand Prix winner in the promotion’s first ever event on US soil.

Anderson’s two previous ONE Championship fights have both taken place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. She is coming off a come from behind victory over Asha Roka but was beaten by Itsuki Hirata on her promotional debut.

But Stamp is the #1 ranked contender in the division and the 28 year old admitted on Instagram that this would be her ‘toughest test’

Clash of styles

It sounds like Anderson has a lot of respect for Stamp. The fight will be a clash of styles with the American recently having been awarded her BJJ purple belt.

Meanwhile the Thai is a Muay Thai veteran who moved up to strawweight to compete in a kickboxing bout last month. She took on the much bigger Supergirl and beat her by split decision.

But while Stamp is best known for her striking skills she also holds a purple belt in BJJ, and earned hers a few months before Anderson. The Thai fighter submitted Ritu Phogat in the atomweight Grand Prix final.

Repeatedly submitting

Earlier this week ONE Championship released footage of Anderson repeatedly submitting a training partner. She might not have things all her own way if the fight with Stamp goes to the ground though.

Stamp had spoken about wanting to recapture the atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing titles this year. She was even offered a shot at the latter but appears to have had a change of heart.

The Thai does not want to fight Anissa Meksen, who pulled out of their mixed rules bout at ONE Fight Night 6 at the last minute. So instead she has returned to MMA where she is currently the top ranked atomweight.

Anderson is currently unranked so the American has the opportunity to jump right to the front of the queue with a win over Stamp in Colorado. She describes it as ‘her toughest test on the biggest stage’ and if she passes the rewards could be considerable.
