Kickboxing star

Ten Pow was a star with kickboxing promotion Glory where he won six out of his seven fights. Last year he beat Muay Thai veteran Kevin Ross by decision to capture the WMC welterweight title.

He made his MMA debut with Titan FC and got off to the perfect start, stopping his overmatched opponent in the opening round. His sophomore appearance for the promotion ended in controversy with the fight ruled a no contest after Ten Pow struck his downed opponent with a knee.

The 32 year old would have no such issues with ONE Championship as knees to the head of a grounded opponent are perfectly legal. But he would also be perfectly capable of competing in kickboxing or Muay Thai:

Fighter friends

During his standup fighting career he represented the Florida Kickboxing Academy. It isn’t clear where he has been training to make the transition to MMA but among the fighters congratulating Ten Pow on earning a ONE Championship contract was Aung La Nsang.

La Nsang is based full time in Florida and trains at Kill Cliff FC, formerly known as Sanford MMA. The two men appear to be friend and may well end up training together.

Florida has emerged as something of a hub for ONE Championship fighters. Adriano Moraes and Marcus Almeida both currently fight out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek.

The likes of Brandon Vera and Martin Nguyen have also spent time preparing for fights at Kill Cliff FC, which is in Deerfield Beach. Ten Pow is the owner of the Florida Kickboxing Academy and is well known on the combat sport scene there.

It remains to be seen which combat sport he will be competing in but the American looks set to make his ONE Championship debut soon.
