Deep-Jewels 29 has been rescheduled for Shinjuku Face on July 23rd. The event had originally been set for May 6th with Suwanan Boonsorn set to meet Mizuki Furuse in the final of the microweight tournament.
With Boonsorn stuck in Thailand that fight is on the backburner. But the promotion announced on Facebook earlier that Asami Nakai would face Miki Motono in a strawweight title bout:
Nakai (4-2) is coming off a decision win over Si Yoon Park at Deep-Jewels 27 last year. A couple of months earlier she saw her three fight winning streak snapped by a submission defeat at the hands of Shizuka Sugiyama at Deep-Jewels 26.
Motono (4-1) has won her last two and is coming off a stoppage win over Nongpan The Rocket at Deep-Jewels 28. Earlier in the year she submitted the experienced Mika Nagano at Deep-Jewels 26.
There will be a small audience in attendance. There are 200 tickets on sale now and the event could be expanded if the coronavirus, or Covid-19, restrictions in Tokyo are eased further.
