In the aftermath of ONE: ‘Heavy Hitters’ the identity of Aung La Nsang‘s next opponent was revealed. The Burmese middleweight will be fighting Vitaly Bigdash for a third time.
It isn’t clear which of the two events booked for next month this middleweight fight will find its way onto. ONE: ‘Bad Blood’ is set for February 11th while ONE: ‘Full Circle’ takes place on February 25th.
La Nsang (27-12-0-1) is one of the most popular fighters on the roster and a former middleweight and light heavyweight champion. He lost both his titles in 2021 but got back to winning ways at the end of the year, beating Leandro Ataides.
Bigdash (11-2) did not fight at all in 2019 or 2020 due to a combination of illness and injury. He returned to action last month with a submission win over Rong Fan.
The two first fought in 2017 with La Nsang accepting a last minute matchup against Bigdash who held the middleweight title. Despite the lack of preparation the Burmese fighter went the distance, dropping a decision to the champion.
The following year the two men rematched in Myanmar. This time it was La Nsang who got the decision win, sending the Yangon crowd into a frenzy.
This is the third time the trilogy fight has been booked with the previous two both falling through due to Covid-19.
