A bantamweight match pitting China against Mongolia has been added to the UFC Shenzhen card. Batgerel Danaa faces Heili Alateng in a bout between two Ruff veterans.
Danaa (6-1) holds a 2013 win over current UFC flyweight Kai Kara-France. The Mongolian has a better record but the Chinese bantamweight has faced a better standard of opposition and has been in with the likes of Kai Asakura, Nam Jin Jo and Song Yadong.
Alateng (12-7-1) has won eight of his last ten bouts and is coming off back to back Road FC wins. Meanwhile Danaa, who won three fights out of three for Legend FC, has only fought twice in the last four years although it’s possible he has multiple bouts in Mongolia missing from his record.
As previously announced Weili Zhang faces reigning strawwweight champion Jessica Andrade in Shenzhen on August 31st. She will become the first Chinese fighter to ever challenge for a UFC belt.
Meanwhile Korean middleweight Jun Yong Park, Chinese welterweight Li Jingliang, Chinese flyweight Wu Yanan, Japanese strawweight Mizuki Inoue and Asian MMA veteran Kai Kara France will all be involved.
This will be the promotion’s third event in mainland China after cards in Shanghai and Beijing.
