An atomweight fight has been added to the ONE: ‘Battleground’ Part III card according to MMA Fighting. Bi Nguyen faces Jenelyn Olsim at the previously recorded event which will be broadcast on August 27th.
Nguyen (6-6-0-1) is coming off a split decision win over Ritu Phogat at ONE: ‘Dangal’. The Vietnamese-American had been hoping to replace the Indian in the upcoming atomweight Grand Prix but those hopes appear to have been squashed.
Olsim (4-2) is coming off an impressive third round submission win over Maíra Mazar at ONE: ‘Fists of Fury’ Part III. The Team Lakay representative had previously fought twice for ONE Warrior Series.
As previously announced Sittichai Sitsongpeenong will make an unscheduled return to the sport of Muay Thai at ONE: ‘Battleground’ Part III. He faces fellow Thai Tawanchai PKSaenchaigym in a bout that only came about because both men saw their original opponent pull out.
Former strawweight champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke (11-6) will also be on the card. He faces China’s Banma Duoji (13-1) who will be making his promotional debut.
