The bantamweight title bout between Bibiano Fernandes and John Lineker will finally take place at ONE: ‘Lights Out’. The two were set to face off last Friday but the bout was nixed at the last minute when the challenger tested positive for Covid-19.
Fernandes (24-4) made his ONE Championship debut in 2012. He is a former Dream bantamweight Grand Prix winner and has dominated Asian MMA for over a decade.
Lineker (34-9) made his name in the UFC but repeatedly missed weight for his 125lbs fights. He has had no issues since signing for ONE Championship and moving up to bantamweight.
The event is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 11th. Also added to the card this week was a strawweight title fight with Prajanchai PKSaenchaigym making the first defence of his belt against Joseph Lasiri.
As previously announced the featherweight title fight between Thanh Le and Garry Tonon will take place at ONE: ‘Lights Out’. The bout has been in the works for well over a year now.
The two men had originally been set to face off at ONE: ‘X’ last year. But that show was postponed and the fight has now been moved to a different card.
