The Danaher Death Squad is bringing its no-gi BJJ program to Evolve MMA in Singapore. It is a system that has been employed to great effect by the likes of Gordon Ryan and Garry Tonon.

Founded by Renzo Gracie black belt John Danaher, the Danaher Death Squad has dominated the no-gi BJJ scene in recent years. The program uses an analytical and scientific approach and is famous for its high submission rate.

BJJ Champion Robert Degle will be moving to Singapore in April to head up the program as a full-time Danaher Death Squad instructor at Evolve MMA. He explained the thought process behind their submissions system,

“If we view what we are doing in grappling as solving a series of technical problems, then systematic solutions offer the most efficient and comprehensive means of getting the job done. This is the approach my coach John Danaher has always encouraged me to take to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling.”

Wesley De Souza, vice president of Evolve MMA, said,

“John Danaher has created one of the most revolutionary no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu systems in the world. At Evolve MMA, we are always looking to learn and grow, and the opportunity to add the Danaher Death Squad program is exciting for everyone at the academy. With Robert Degle leading the program full-time here in Singapore, our students will have yet another avenue to advance their learning and development.”

Evolve MMA is already home to a number of BJJ black belts including Leandro Issa, Alex Silva and Bruno Pucci. It has also helped several former Muay Thai fighters or boxers transition into MMA including Yodsanan Sityodtong and Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.
