ONE Championship has signed another kickboxer to compete in its stacked featherweight division. Chingiz Allazov  is the latest in a long line of stand up stars to sign up with the Singapore based promotion.

Allazov is a former K-1 super welterweight (154 lbs) champion. He beat three opponents in a single night to win the tournament at the Saitama Super Arena in 2017.

The 27-year-old holds wins over the likes of Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee, Dzhabar Askerov, Enriko Kehl, and Mustapha Haida. The latter is believed to be next in line for a shot at the promotion’s lightweight kickboxing belt.

But Allazov will be competing at featherweight and will not be short of potential opponents. There are three fighters on the roster who have already defeated him and rematches with Giorgio Petrosyan, Marat Grigorian, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong could be on the agenda.

Other fighters in the division include Superbon Banchamek, Tayfun Ozcan, Davit Kiria, Jonay Risco and Yodsanklai Fairtex. In 2019 Petrosyan won the featherweight kickboxing Grand Prix, earning $1 million USD in the process.

Petrosyan has not fought since but the promotion is expected to put on another featherweight kickboxing Grand Prix in 2021. Allazov looks likely to be one of the fighters included in the second edition of the tournament.
