UAE Warriors 15 is set for Abu Dhabi on January 15th. In the main event Bruno Machado will defend his lightweight title against Mickael Lebout.
Machado (14-9) is coming off wins at UAE Warriors 6, UAE Warriors 7 and UAE Warriors 12 with the most recent victory earning him the lightweight title. The Brazilian is based long term in Abu Dhabi and holds a BJJ black belt.
Lebout (20-10-3) is a UFC veteran and will be making his promotional debut. The experienced French fighter has won three out of his last four fights.
Khabib Nurmagedov is bringing a team of fighters which includes his cousin Shamil Zavurov (38-6–1). The former M-1 welterweight champion faces Brazilian Renato Gomes (26-12) in a catchweight contest which is set for 73kgs.
Meanwhile Armenia’s Martun Mezhlumyan (11-2) has been handed a quick turnaround after his loss at UAE Warriors 14. He has been matched with Mexican Daniel Vega (12-3-1) in a lightweight bout.
ONE Championship veteran Muin Gafurov (15-3) will finally make his promotional debut at UAE Warriors 15. He is moving up to featherweight to face Walter Zamora (11-3).
The event will commemorate the life of Abdulmanap Nurmagedov, the father of Khabib Nurmagedov who passed away in 2020. His son will be in attendance at the Jiu Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi.
