A former ONE Championship flyweight champion is facing a former Road FC flyweight champion in a catchweight contest in Singapore. Geje Eustaquio has been booked to take on Song Min Jong in an event that will be being broadcast next Friday.
The catchweight contest between the Filipino and the Korean at ONE: ‘Inside the Matrix’ Part III is set for 64kgs, roughly halfway between the flyweight and bantamweight limit. It pits together two fighters looking to recapture past glory.
Eustaquio (13-8) held the ONE Championship flyweight title in 2018. He is coming off a spinning back kick KO win over Toni Tauru at ONE: ‘Masters of Fate’ last year.
Jong (11-7) was the Road FC flyweight champion in 2015. He has a three year break from competitive action but has been handed his promotional debut after scoring wins at OWS 8 and OWS 5.
The card will also feature a welterweight fight between Murad Ramazanov (9-0) and Hiroyuki Tetsuka (9-3). Both men are undefeated in ONE Championship fights and the winner could well be in line for a title shot.
Tetsuka is the reigning welterweight King of Pancrase. He won’t be the only champion from a Japanese promotion competing on this card.
Reigning strawweight Shooto champion Koha Minowa (11-2) will make his ONE Championship debut. He has been matched with Lito Adiwang (11-2) who trains alongside Eustaquio at Team Lakay.
As previously announced a bantamweight fight that has been talked about for quite some time will headline ONE: ‘Inside the Matrix’ Part III. Kevin Belingon faces John Lineker at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
