Hayato Ishii will take on Kota Onojima in a bantamweight bout at Shooto 0801. The event is set for the Korakuen Hall on August 1st.
The fight is part of the ‘Bantamweight Infinity League’ which was launched earlier this year. The two are competing alongside Takahiro Ichijo, Yasuyuki Nojiri and Yoshizumi Kobayashi.
Ishii (15-3-1) won his opening fight in the tournament. The Tribe Tokyo representative is coming off back to back victories and outpointed Ichijo in February.
Onojima (12-5-1) was last seen in action at Shooto 1125 last year. He dropped a decision to Motonobu Tezuka and will be fighting in the tournament for the first time.
As previously announced the final of the super atomweight tournament is set for Shooto 0801. Mina Kurobe and Megumi Sugimoto will face off with the inaugural 108lbs title on the line.
That is one of five fights currently on the card. There is also a Pacific Rim bantamweight title fight pitting Tatsuya Ando against Takumi Tamaru.
In the flyweight division Takamasa Kiuchi has been matched with Ryohei Kurosawa and Motoshi Miyaji goes up against Takeo Lida in a welterweight bout.
