Rizin Trigger 2 is set for the Ecopa Arena on February 23rd. The event in Fukuroi will be headlined by Kleber Koike who faces Ulka Sasaki in a featherweight fight.

Erbst is a part of the Bonsai Jiu Jitsu team which had a stellar 2021. His teammate Roberto de Souza won and defended the Rizin lightweight title while he beat Mikuru Asakura in a clash between two of the top contenders in the featherweight division.

Erbst (28-5-1 ) wont be fighting for the title just yet though. Instead he has been handed a match with a UFC veteran who has spent the majority of his career at bantamweight.

Sasaki (23-9-2) has won two of his nine Rizin fights. He moved up to featherweight to face Yoshinori Horie but dropped a decision to his fellow UFC alumni.

Also announced for Rizin Trigger 2 was a bantamweight fight between Kenji Kato (13-7) and Kazuma Kuramoto (8-2). The former has won his last two while the latter was eliminated in the opening round of the bantamweight Grand Prix.

In the featherweight division Suguru Nii (12-11) faces Sora Yamamoto (12-6-2). The card is likely to consist exclusively of locally based fighters due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

Rizin Trigger 1 took place in Kobe last month and was headlined by a featherweight fight between Kyohei Hagiwara stops Shoji Maruyama. The former won by way of second round stoppage.
