Road FC 54 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion La In-Jae and challenger Yang Hae-Jun. Among seven new bouts added to the card today was the 185lbs match that could determine the identity of the next challenger.
Undefeated middleweight Hwang In-Su will be looking to make it five Road FC wins out of five when he faces Choi Won-Jun. It’s a bout that pits two well known Korean camps against one another with the former representing Team Mad and the latter fighting out of MMA Story.
In-Su (4-0) is coming off back to back wins over experienced opponents. He had been slated to face Hae-Jun at Road FC 48 but pulled out with an injury and will be looking to extend his winning streak on June 15th.
Won-Jun (3-3) has also spent his entire career competing for the promotion. He is coming off a spectacular KO loss against Michel Pereira at Road FC 51 and it won’t serve as much consolation to know that the win earned his opponent a UFC contract.
The card will also feature an atomweight bout pitting Park Jeong-Eun (4-6-1) against Shim Yu-Ri (5-2). The former challenged unsuccessfully for the title at Road FC 51 while the latter has won her last three.
Next up for the Korean promotion is Road FC 53. It will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between tournament winner Mansour Barnaoui and current champion Kwon A-Sol and also features kickboxing veteran Jerome Le Banner.
