One of Japan’s top prospects will be in action at Deep 94. Recently crowned interim flyweight champion Makoto Takahashi has been matched with Jae Woong Byun at the Korakuen Hall on March 1st.

Takahashi (10-1-1) won the interim version of the flyweight belt at Deep 90 in 2019. The 19 year old followed that up with a victory over Yusaku Nakamura at Bellator Japan last month.

His opponent is less experienced but has some big names on his resume. Byun (2-1) scored a decision win over Masakazu Imanari in 2016 and went the distance with Yuki Motoya a couple of years later, dropping a decision to the former Deep bantamweight champion.

As previously announced Ryuichiro Sumimura faces Yuta Watanabe in a welterweight title fight that will headline Deep 94. The card also features a bantamweight fight between Yuki Motoya and Takafumi Otsuka.
