The full fight card for Rizin 21 was released this afternoon. The event is set for Shizuoka on February 22nd and will be headlined by a catchweight contest pitting Mikuru Asakura against Daniel Salas.
Asakura (12-1) has won seven fights in a row and was last seen in action at Rizin 20. He has a quick turnaround and takes on Daniel Salas (16-6-1) in a fight that is set for 68kgs. ‘El Cazador’ was a member of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America Season 2.
Asakura is a YouTube star and pledged to entertain the audience,
“I know I can put on an entertaining fight regardless of my opponent, so I ask that everybody to come to Hamamatsu to watch the fights live. I’ve seen a few minutes of my opponent’s fights and I think he is very tough.”
The card at the Hamamatsu Arena features a couple of interesting bantamweight bouts. Victor Henry (19-4) faces Masanori Kanehara (27-13-5) while Naoki Inoue (12-2) has been matched with Trent Girdham (12-3).
Meanwhile ONE Championship veteran Hideki Sekine (7-3) has been matched with Roque Martinez (14-5-2) in a heavyweight fight. Vugar Keramov (14-3) is the latest fighter from Azerbaijan to sign with Rizin and he faces Pancrase veteran Kyle Aguon (13-8) in the featherweight division.
