A familiar name to Asian MMA fans has been added to the UFC Singapore card according to reports. Muslim Salikhov, who made his name fighting in China, will face Laureano Staropoli on October 26th.
Salikhov (15-2) earned the moniker ‘King of Kung Fu’ while competing for various Chinese promotions. The Russian welterweight is coming off an impressive stoppage win at UFC 242.
Staropoli (9-1) hails from Argentina and, like his opponent, is coming off back to back UFC wins. But, unlike Salikhov, he has needed the help of the judges in both occasions.
There are now nine bouts confirmed for the UFC Singapore card. Controversial heavyweight Greg Hardy was recently rescheduled for a different show after his original opponent pulled out due to injury.
As previously announced Ben Askren will face Demian Maia in the main event of UFC Fight Night 162. The American is a former ONE Championship welterweight champion and has fought in the Singapore Indoor Stadium several times.
