Main event
In the main event Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek UThai faces Ilyas Musaev in a bantamweight bout. The former was named ‘fighter of the year’ in Thailand in 2017 and has been in with some of the biggest names in the sport.
At ONE Friday Fights 2 he earned a decision win over another ‘fighter of the year’ winner, Sangmanee Sor Tienpo. But the 24 year old is coming off a stoppage loss at the hands of Muangthai PKSaenchai gym at ONE Friday Fights 9.
Musaev finds himself in an almost identical situation. At ONE Friday Fights 3 he stopped Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree in the second round and picked up a $10,000 USD bonus for his efforts.
But at ONE Friday Fights 7 the Russian dropped a decision to Yodphupha Wimanair. He faces a very tough test against the hugely experienced Kulabdam who has won two Lumpinee titles in two divisions.
Familiar faces
There will be two MMA fights on the card and one of them features two names who will be familiar to ONE Championship fans. Chen Rui (15-5) has fought eight times for the promotion previously.
With four wins and four losses he has had mixed results. The Chinese bantamweight has been matched with Drex Zamboanga (14-5) who has won three in a row and is looking to replicate the success of his sister, Denice Zamboanga, who is one of the top contenders in the atomweight division.
