There are 24 regular ONE Championship events on the 2019 calendar. The schedule looks set to be even busier than that as CEO Chatri Sityodtong took to Facebook today to announce some supplementary shows and programs:
The ONE Warrior Series (OWS) is a YouTube series fronted by Rich Franklin. It sees the former UFC middleweight champion travel all over Asia to search for new talent with potential prospects facing off at live OWS events.
So far there have been three OWS events and fighters like Dae Sung Park and Stamp Fairtex have gone on to enjoy success with ONE Championship. Mark Abelardo was also rewarded with a contract after registering back to back OWS wins.
In 2019 there will be six OWS events and there will also be a new show entitled ONE Hero Series. While details are low on the ground ad the time of writing it appears this will be a reality show based around live events in China.
Towards the end of 2018 ONE Championship announced a multimillion dollar foray into the world of Esports. It remains to be seen what format this will take but there will be three ONE ESports events this year.
Next up is ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’ in Jakarta on January 19th. The event will be headlined by a strawweight title fight between Joshua Pacio and Yosuke Sarata. Six day’s later is ONE: ‘Hero’s Ascent’ in Manila with flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio rematching Adriano Moraes in the main event.
