ONE Championship is expanding into the U.S. market. The organization is set to open offices in both New York and Los Angeles this summer in addition to the eight that are already operational.

Founder / CEO Chatri Sityodtong took to Facebook to break the news:

ONE Championship has never put on an event outside of Asia but the promotion recently signed a U.S. broadcast deal with TNT. In total the promotion has put on 104 fight cards since its inception in 2011.

ONE: ‘Century’ in Tokyo this October is set to be the organization’s 100th major card. There have also been ten ONE Warrior Series and ONE Hero Series events to date.

ONE Championship has several American stars on the roster including former UFC champions Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez. There is also a strong American presence at corporate level with both Miesha Tate and Rich Franklin holding executive roles.

The U.S. remains the single most lucrative market for the sport of MMA and it seems that Asia’s biggest promotion has big ambitions for the country.
