Two Filipinos will face off in a title fight for only the second time in promotional history at ONE: ‘Masters of Fate’ next month. Joshua Pacio defends his strawweight title against Rene Catalan in Manila on November 8th.
Pacio (17-3) is the reigning, two time strawweight champion. At the MOA Arena he will be making the first defence of the belt that he regained with a stoppage win over Yosuke Saruta at ONE: ‘Roots of Honor’.
Catalan (6-2-0-1) is riding a six fight winning streak that concluded with a stoppage of former champion Yoshitaka Naito at ONE: ‘Reign of Valor’. The multiple time wushu world champion has not lost a fight since 2014.
The event also features two former champions. Eduard Folayang (21-8) has been booked to face Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu (5-1), a Mongolian lightweight who had initially been scheduled to face Antonio Caruso at ONE: ‘Dawn of Valor’ later this month.
Former flyweight king Geje Eustaquio (12-8) will be looking to bounce back from his devastating defeat at the hands of Yuya Wakamatsu. The 30 year old meets former bantamweight challenger Toni Tauru (11-7-1) in a rematch.
The card will also feature the promotional debut of arguably the best Muay Thai fighter in the world today. Sangmanee SathianmuayThai has beaten some of the biggest names in the sport so far this year. He has been matched with Glory veteran Azize Hlali.
