Eduard Folayang has a new opponent at next week’s ONE: ‘Fire & Fury’. Pieter Buist replaces Ahmed Mujtaba and will face the Filipino at the MOA Arena on January 31st.
Buist (16-4) won two fights out of two for ONE Championship in 2019. Standing 6’2″ he is one of the tallest fighters in the division and is riding a seven fight winning streak.
Former lightweight champion Folayang (22-8) needs no introduction. He had originally been slated to face Mujtaba, a Pakistani who has not fought in almost two years after pulling out of two bouts in 2019.
However the Filipino now finds himself matched with a Dutch Muay Thai specialist. Buist is coming off wins over two high calibre opponents in Kota Shimoishi and Tony Caruso.
As previously announced ONE: ‘Fire & Fury’will be headlined by a strawweight title fight. Joshua Pacio is putting his belt on the line against former champion Alex Silva in Manila.
There are also two significant flyweight fights. Danny Kingad has been matched with ONE Hero Series veteran Xie Wei while Tatsumitsu Wada takes on undefeated newcomer Ivanildo Delfino.
