Denice Zamboanga has her rematch! According to the South China Morning Post she is set to take on Seo Hee Ham for the second time at ONE: ‘X’ on December 5th.
Ham withdrew from the atomweight Grand Prix after breaking her finger, presumably during her fight with Zamboanga at ONE: ‘Empower’. So with both atomweights no longer in the tournament the promotion has reportedly decided to put together an immediate rematch.
While both will be disappointed at missing out on the chance to win the tournament this fight could well turn out to be a title eliminator. Zamboanga will be looking to beat Ham even more convincingly second time around while the Korean knows she needs to put in a much more impressive performance.
The result of the first fight was so controversial that an official review was ordered. But the decision was not overturned and it will go down as Zamboanga’s first ever loss.
Both fighters had plenty to say in the aftermath with Zamboanga rendered absolutely speechless by the decision. But Han was adamant that she deserved to win and the judges git it bang on.
On December 5th it sounds like the two atomweights will get to settle their differences inside the cage!
