Road to ONE 5 is set for Bangkok on Monday. The event will take place at the World Siam Stadium and the card is likely to consist exclusively of Muay Thai fights.
This will be the fifth event in the series. The first three all took place in Tokyo while the most recent was held last Saturday night in Yekaterinburg.
The event will feature a tournament involving ’12 martial artists from Thailand’. It remains to be seen what the format will be but the winner or winners will be offered a ONE Championship contract.
Road to ONE 4 took place last Saturday in Russia in conjunction with local kickboxing promotion Fair Fight. Road to ONE 3 was held a couple of months ago in Tokyo but the card consisted mainly of fighters already on the roster.
Road to ONE 1 and Road to ONE 2 were also held in Tokyo. Local promotions Pancrase and Shooto sent representatives to compete on both fight cards.
ONE Championship went on a five month hiatus earlier this year due to Covid-19. But a busy schedule is underway with events having been held in China, Thailand and Singapore since lockdown conditions were eased.
ONE: ‘Big Bang’ is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday and will feature a mixture of kickboxing and MMA contests. ONE: ‘Collision Course’ is set for the same venue on December 18th.
