One of the highlights of the Thailand Muay Thai calendar is the Rajadamnern birthday show, held every year in December. This year is no exception with another star studded line up tomorrow, celebrating 73 years of fights at the iconic venue.
This year the honour of promoting the event has fallen to Petyindee promotions, headed by the stadiums youngest promoter Nuttadej Vachirarattanawong who caused a huge stir on the Thailand Muay Thai scene when he announced he would be joined in promoting the show by major global martial arts promotion ONE Championship.
The line up sees several of Petchyindee promotions star fighters matched up with opponents from rival Rajadamnern promotion One Songchai and from Lumpinee promoter PKSaenchai.
In the opening fight Boonlong Khlongsuanpluu resort faces Samingdet Nor Anuwat gym.
Fight number two sees the return to Muay Thai for a one off fight for Satanmuanglek Petchyindeeacademy. The undefeated boxer faces One Songchai promotions star and former Rajadamnern stadium mini flyweight champion Anuway Natkinplaa
Legend of the sport
Somraknoi Muaydet789 faces another One Songchai promotions star, Kompatak Sinbimuaythai, in the third bout of the night.
Diesellek Wor Wanchai faces one of the legends of the sport in recent years, former Lumpinee champion Wanchalong PKSaenchaigym, in the fourth fight of the night.
Recently crowned Rajadamnern light flyweight champion Praewprao Muaydet789 faces a former Rajadamnern stadium champion, Sayanlek Sayan gym from One Songchai promotions, in the fifth fight. Recently Praewprao’s boss Nuttadej threw down the gauntlet, saying his young fighter is ready to face anyone in Thailand from 106-108 lbs.
Petchyindee and ONE Championship star Petchdam Gaiyanghadao faces former Lumpini champion Detsakda Puukongyatsurpudomsuk, who fights out of the famous Sitsongpeenong camp, in fight number six.
Former Lumpinee champions
The pre main event sees two former Lumpini stadium champions do battle when Superlek Mor Rattanabandit, who recently signed with ONE Championship, takes on Gaonar PKSaenchaimuaythai gym. Both fighters have been at the pinnacle of the sport for the last few years.
The main event is a scintillating match up between Rungkit Morbeskamala, the current Rajadamnern super featherweight champion and strong contender for ‘Fighter of the Year’ and current Lumpini stadium super featherweight champion Suakim Sitsortortaew.
