The UFC recently crowned its first ever Chinese champion and Song Yadong will be looking to take another step towards a title shot. The #13 ranked Chinese bantamweight has been matched with Cody Stamann on December 7th.

Yadong (15-3-0-2) will be looking to make it eight wins in a row at UFC Washington and, more importantly, to crack the top ten at 135lbs. Stamann (18-2) is currently ranked at #10 and would represent the biggest scalp yet for the Team Alpha Male prospect.

Last weekend Weili Zhang won a UFC strawweight title at the age of 30. Yadong is hoping to follow in her footsteps by winning the bantamweight belt and is nine years younger than the newly crowned champion so time is very much on his side.

UFC Washington will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem (45-17-0-1) and Walt Harris (13-7-0-1). It also features former welterweight champion Carlos Condit (30-13) who will be looking to snap a five fight losing skid when he faces Mickey Gall (6-2).
