After knocking out Giorgio Petrosyan last week Superbon Banchamek is clearly feeling very confident. He recently told Manager Daily in Thailand that he was thinking about trying MMA and believed he could beat the biggest name in the sport,

“If I got the chance I would be interested (to compete in MMA). I have never trained MMA before, but if you asked me who I would like to fight, I would say Conor McGregor because I think I could beat him!”

Superbon might never have trained in MMA but he seems to already have a sophisticated understanding of the sport. Specifically the importance of calling out Conor McGregor in order to get you name out there.

Superbon’s name is certainly out there after he knocked out one of the greatest kickboxers of all time at ONE: ‘First Strike’. It was a victory for Muay Thai and across the sport people have heaped praise on the newly crowned featherweight king.

Having conquered the sport of kickboxing could MMA be next for Superbon? We think he would be better off focusing on his next title defence, which will be against the winner of the ongoing featherweight Grand Prix.
