Hayato Suzuki and Pongsiri Mitsatit, two of the strawweight division’s top contenders, will collide at the ONE: ‘Warrior’s Dream’ card on November 17th in Jakarta.
The event is set for Stadium Istora with 12 fights on the card. As previously announced the event will be headlined by a bout between Zebaztian Kadestam and Tyler McGuire with the vacant welterweight title on the line.
Suzuki (19-1-2) suffered the first loss of his entire career against Alex Silva in November of 2017. But he has submitted both of his subsequent opponents with rear naked chokes, and a win here could set up a rematch with ONE strawweight champion Joshua Pacio, whom he has already beaten once.
Mitsatit (9-1) saw his perfect professional record spoiled by Pacio last time out. He comes from a Muay Thai background and this promises to be a clash of styles as Suzuki is a submission specialist.
Also slated for the card is Nieky Holzken, one of the best kickboxers of all time, making his ONE Super Series debut. Holzken is the former Glory welterweight champion and also reached the semi finals of the World Boxing Super Series middleweight tournament.
The Dutchman faces Cosmo Alexandre who is better known for his exploits inside the Muay Thai ring. The Brazilian is a former WPMF middleweight champion and Lion Fight super middleweight champion but won’t be able to use his elbows in this kickboxing bout.
